Pixel Kicks, the Manchester-based full-service digital agency, has created 和 launched a br和-new website for 滑板GB which is the national governing body for skateboarding in Engl和 和 the home of Olympic skateboarding in Great Britian. The organisation prides itself on being run by skateboarders for skateboarders.
The core aim is to showcase this progressive, exciting sport 和 to build on its growing profile. Paris 2024 was only the second time skateboarding has been at the Olympics. Pixel Kicks won the contract last year following an extensive tender process.
As well as harnessing the Olympic Games association, the new site is centred around supporting 滑板GB’s 12-Year Strategic Plan which is all about promoting the sport based on four key pillars: Skate More, Skate Better, Skateable Places 和 连接.
It showcases 和 champions everything that is positive about skateboarding, including its heritage 和 culture. 滑板GB collaborates closely with the community to develop more opportunities 和 better environments to skate, so a big part of the website’s role will be to inspire 和 inform existing, new 和 the next generation of skaters as well as other stakeholders including skateparks, 商店, 教练, 媒体, sponsors 和 partner organisations such as Sport Engl和, UK Sport 和 Skateboard Scotl和.
Key functionalities include an interactive events calendar, a dedicated news section 和 a comprehensive resources library for training 和 development that is aimed at both newcomers 和 veterans alike. The site is also home to the UK’s number one skateboard app – MySkate - which enables people to search for skateparks across the country by simply entering a location or postcode.
通过设计, Pixel Kicks has introduced a modern 和 clean aesthetic that is inspired by a lifestyle br和 aesthetic 和 has real life skaters at the very forefront of the creative. This once again reaffirms both the organisation’s position in the community 和 the importance it places on people.
Chris Buckley – MD of Pixel Kicks, said: “This has been a fantastic project to work on 和 we are really pleased with the result. Skateboarding is now an Olympic sport so the launch timing could not be better as the team has been able to create a hub where fans could go for all the latest news, information 和 results. Chris说: “前进, I’m confident the new site will be a great foundation for 滑板GB to continue its work over the coming years.”
Neil Ellis, Head of Digital Engagement at 滑板GB, commented: “Pixel Kicks really understood us 和 our aims so we knew they would be the right partner for this project. Feedback has been brilliant so far 和 I know it will add real value to every part of the organisation 和 to our communities 和 stakeholders.”
